5 Underrated Bible Verses to Bring You Fresh Encouragement Today

5 Bible verses that can give you new encouragement today

Philippians 3:7: “What I once counted as gain, I now count all as loss for Christ’s sake.”

The apostle Paul wrote: “But what I once counted as gain, I now count all things as loss for Christ’s sake” (Philippians 3:7). This often underrated Bible verse is one of my favorites. It is sometimes overlooked among Paul’s other writings to the Philippians. This is a great unkindness, for this is a truly beautiful verse of the Bible.

Philippians 3:7 tells us that Paul considers all his previous gains as losses for Christ’s sake. He does not praise the things he used to do, such as persecuting believers or having a high position in society. Rather, he considers all those things as a loss. Paul does this because he knows that Jesus Christ is far more than anything he has ever achieved, acquired, or done.

“Whoever does not love me will not obey my words. And remember that my words are not mine, but what I say to you comes from the Father who sent me.” – John 14:24

This section gives a picture of the concept of loving Jesus. In John 14:24, God says: “Whoever does not love me will not follow my teaching. These words that you hear are not from me, but from the Father who sent me. This is part of Jesus’ words to his disciples. Before saying this, Jesus said that whoever loves him will follow his teachings, the Father will love him and they will make their home with him (John 14:23).

This section is sometimes underestimated because it contains some harsh truths. God clearly tells us that anyone who does not love Him will not follow His teachings. Instead, they will follow the teachings, desires or perhaps norms of their society.

“For God forsakes no man forever.” – Marathi 3:31

This verse is from the words of Prophet Jeremiah, who wrote the Marathi book. During his life, Jeremiah witnessed the severe suffering of the people of Israel. Despite this experience, Jeremiah kept his hope in God. This is evident in the very familiar verses that precede this lesser-known verse:

“The Lord’s love never ends, and his mercies have no end. His faithfulness is great, and his mercies are renewed every morning.” – Marathi 3:22-23

Looking at Psalm 31:31, we feel God’s encouragement through Jeremiah who wrote it. He wrote that God does not leave anyone forever. Even when we are going through difficult and stressful times in life, we can turn to this encouraging word for renewed hope that these difficulties will not last forever. Things will get better, even if not in this world, then in our Father’s house in heaven for every believer in Jesus Christ. God will not abandon us, because His heart’s desire is to bring us back to Himself through Jesus.

“The earth was empty and empty, and darkness was on the surface of the waters. And the Spirit of God was schwebt [in Hebrew, it means suspended or floating] on the surface of the waters.” – Genesis 1:2

کتاب مقدس

Genesis 1:2, a sometimes underrated verse of the Bible, tells the story of creation. The Holy Spirit hovered over the waters, as did Jesus Christ, from the very beginning of the Bible. Christians believe in the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, three persons in one divine nature.

The Holy Spirit is the second person of the Trinity, not a different entity, object, or force. Instead, he is the third person of the Trinity; He has all the attributes of God and feelings and emotions. Genesis 1:2 gives an amazing look at the Holy Spirit and our Triune God! This verse not only tells us about creation, but it also tells us that the Holy Spirit was present in creation, which is a testimony to his divinity and oneness.

“Therefore, you also have been made perfect through union with Christ, for he is the head of all rulers and authorities.” – Colossians 2:10

Apostle Paul wrote in the verse before this less important verse that in Christ, all the perfection of divinity dwells in a physical form (Colossians 2:9). It helps us to understand that just as God is fully God and fully man, so we are complete in Him.

We are not minor gods, nor are we half God and half man. Instead, what Paul wrote is that in Christ we have been given completeness. We are good enough for God because of Jesus. We need never again fear the fact that we all fall short (Romans 3:23) or lack something, because in Christ, we are complete. He makes up for our lack and much more! As we struggle with the lie that we are not good enough or that our lives are lacking, we can cling to this truth in Paul’s letter to the Colossians. The truth is that in Christ we have been given completeness.
