4 ways in Christianity to end life’s problems

4 ways in Christianity to end the problems of life Hard life and unpleasant periods of loneliness, stress, illness and sadness are inevitable on earth. Thank God, one of God’s greatest gifts to me is the uncanny ability to maintain happiness even in the worst times of life or those dull days when nothing seems to be going right and we are as low as a lump of coal. In the following, I will share with you some great solutions to get out of this depression with the help of the Bible and Christianity.

1. Praise:

If worship was a sport, I would definitely win a gold medal! I’ve even been injured while dancing to Elevation Worship in the kitchen. I’ve been seen praising loudly while jogging in the woods several times, and I’ve had a few accidents by praising too much while driving. Some of these times have happened to me during a divorce, not having enough money to pay the water bill, and dealing with a stressful period at work. Why? Because we don’t praise God for our circumstances. We praise Him because He is the only thing that matters. No matter what our feelings, we can praise Him because He is ours and He loves us. We can praise God because he is unreasonably kind to us even when we don’t deserve it and is always faithful. Even when feeling joy or happiness is completely impossible, we can still celebrate the fact that we have found the source of eternal life, while many around us are still lost. Even in the darkest of times, when we are faced with a diagnosis, financial problems, or painful family dramas, we can still praise God because He is still 100 percent in control. There is nothing we can do or fail to do that will hinder His good plans for our lives, and there is no problem He cannot bring us through.

2. Reading psalms (psalms) in Christianity:

God bless David. He went through a difficult time when he was running from a bloodthirsty king and felt deep shame and remorse, but his writing has pulled me out of deep, dark wells of despair. The Psalms are living proof that even in the midst of extreme anxiety and depression, we can still have hope and joy. David made many mistakes in his life (murder, lust, pride), but he is the only man in the Old Testament who is honored as “a man after God’s own heart.” David’s almost inexplicable ability to worship in difficult times stemmed directly from his intimacy with God. He knew God so well that even the murderous bands of enemy soldiers could not undermine his faith in God’s goodness, grace and sovereignty. Besides being our protector and provider, another of my favorite psalms (Psalm 18) says that God delights us. The fact that God enjoys my ridiculous existence makes it hard for me to stop grumbling. When we feel like everyone is letting us down—even our children, spouses, and best friends—God is there, looking for ways to guide our thoughts and bring us back into His presence.

3. Making a list of thanksgivings and answered prayers:

It’s really hard to grumble while feeling genuine gratitude. The problem is that we easily forget that God has helped us with grace and even miracles during the past days, weeks, months and years. Even after answered prayers and “big” blessings like a new house, a job promotion, or the birth of a healthy baby, we are conditioned to immediately focus on the next problem, area of improvement, or thing we desire. Rarely do we focus on all that we have and all that He has done daily with joy and deep contemplation. I once heard that God himself is the greatest gift this life can offer. Everything else is just icing on the cake of life. The best way to get out of a slump? Keep a constant list of answered prayers to keep yourself aware and grateful for God’s goodness toward you.

4. Pray and think of others:

One of the best ways to quell self-obsession and depression is to make a list of the needs of those around you: coworkers, family, neighbors, and church friends. Committing to prayer each day takes the focus off of our own complaints and frustrations and reminds us of how good we are. It’s so difficult to constantly bemoan my five-pound weight gain while constantly praying for a friend struggling with depression or thinking about the loneliness and isolation of our elderly neighbor next door. The best next step is to join a group or activity that actively helps/serves others. I will never forget the first time I got involved in a house four years ago. Just hearing their stories and feeling their desperate need for love and attention was almost unbearable, but it still blessed me more than I can express. Unfortunately, even as we go through tough times, many others are struggling with much more. We all have our moments, but I just refuse to be the girl that God’s eyes fall on and He sees me constantly whining about the disappointments in a world full of suffering.
