Way of the Cross (Spiritual Awakening)
Now we mention a few words about “spiritual awakening”. What this book says about spiritual awakening may surprise many people. Usually, when we say spiritual awakening, they often think that it means a great religious movement in which many believers realize that they are sinners and come to Christ in an exciting environment. They say that this kind of awakening, which is often not practical, is a desirable perfection and we should pray for it until God grants it to us at a certain time. But in the meantime, the church should be content to live in this defeated state and continue its martyrdom without new life.
Most of us have realized that spiritual awakening is just the opposite of this. It is not necessary for the spiritual awakening to be noisy (because if someone realizes that he is a sinner in front of the cross, he will not make noise). In fact, it should be said that wherever there is commotion and noise, the spiritual awakening is less. Friends who taught us about spiritual awakening often refrained from explaining the noisy side of it, because often the attention to appearances and noise causes us to not fully hear God’s voice. Another important topic about spiritual awakening is that God does not start it among unbelievers, but rather it starts among God’s people. Spiritual awakening simply means life and new life, that is, we want to say that life exists but is weakened. Unbelievers don’t need to wake up, because they don’t need to wake up. It is the believers who must wake up. Christians are degenerate and therefore it is necessary to wake up spiritually. For this reason, those who are willing to admit that their lives have been incomplete and degenerate can be awakened.
Way of the Cross (Spiritual Awakening)
The more honest the confession of sin, the more awake God will make us. When Christians wake up, God will be able to work with new power among the lost. One of the slogans of Evan Roberts during the spiritual awakening in Wales was: “Humble the church so that people will be saved”. These two are always related. The world has lost its faith, as the fire of awakening has been extinguished in the church.
It is necessary to mention one thing about the previous preparation of the reader. If the reader wants God to bless him by reading this book, he should read this book with a thirsty heart. He should be dissatisfied with the general situation of the church and especially with his own situation. He should be willing and allow God to start something in him first and then in others. In addition, he must be confident that God can fulfill his pure and correct needs. If the reader is one of the Christian leaders, he should pay more attention to this matter.
The more he is willing to confess his need, the more God will bless his listeners. The most important thing is that he should first humble himself before the cross of Christ. If he wants his listeners to repent of any kind of sin, he must first start this work himself. When the king of Nineveh came down from the throne and covered himself with linen and sat on the ashes as a sign of repentance. All his people repented.
But this book is not written only for Christian leaders and ordinary Christians should not wait for their leaders. God wants to start with each of us. God wants to start with you.
May God bless us all.
