What Happens on Judgment Day? The Last Judgment of God

The Bible declares that God has appointed a day for the “judgment of the inhabited earth” (Judgment Day) (Acts 17:31). This day of judgment, also known as the final judgment, is when Jesus Christ, the Son of God, will judge the “living and the dead” and then destroy the old heavens and earth that have been corrupted by corruption.

Sin is anything that is against God’s will and law. To commit sin is to disobey or abuse his laws. Since the desire to sin is inherent in human nature, humanity is corrupted and influenced to some extent by the immoral tendencies that exist in all human beings. This is the result of the fall into sin in the Garden of Eden. Before creating his new heavens and earth, God must destroy everything that could produce sin or transfer it to his new creation.

According to the Bible, Jesus Christ will act as the final judgmental justice, because the Bible states that “Furthermore, the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son” (John 5:22). All skeptics will be judged by Christ before the “Great White Throne” and receive a punishment commensurate with their deeds. The Bible is absolutely certain that skeptics will avenge themselves and that God will “render to every man according to his works” (Romans 2:5-6). In the final judgment, the fate of the wicked and unbelievers will be in the hands of Almighty God, who will judge everyone according to the state of their souls.

In addition, let’s take a look at some of the significant biblical references to the Day of Judgment to better understand God’s final judgment.

Bible verses about the Day of Judgment

1 Corinthians 4:5 Therefore do not judge before the appointed time; Wait until God comes. He will bring to light what is hidden in darkness and reveal the motives of the heart. At that time, everyone will receive their praise from God.
2 Corinthians 5:10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive what he has done in the body, according to his deeds, whether good or bad.
But I tell you that everyone will have to give an account on the day of judgment for every idle word he has spoken. Because you will be acquitted by your words and you will be condemned by your words.
2 Timothy 4:1 I solemnly charge you before God and Jesus Christ, who is to judge the living and the dead, and at his appearing and in his kingdom…
Revelation 20:11-15 And I saw a great white throne and him who sat on it, from whose presence earth and heaven fled, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, the great and the small, standing before God, and the books were opened. And another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged according to their deeds, according to what was written in the books.

How will we be judged on judgment day?

According to Charles Stanley, the Bible declares that Jesus Christ will judge every person who has ever lived (Acts 10:42). Those who reject his offer of salvation face the White Throne Judgment—the last stop for unbelievers before spending an eternity away from God’s presence. Believers will also stand before Jesus Christ, at which time they will finally come to a full understanding of His abundant grace.

In 1 Corinthians 5:4, Paul says that Jesus will reveal the hidden motives in the hearts of believers. Some people have the misconception that all their sins are on display for everyone to see, but the Bible does not support this idea at all.

Jesus will reveal to him the true nature of a believer’s heart. Any unruly act, bad attitude and bad talk will be investigated. When the Bible says that Jesus will wipe the tears from our eyes, it is referring to this time (Isaiah 8:25). We will stand before the holy Redeemer and grieve for how unworthy we have been of His sacrifice. But this sadness will only last for a moment. In its wake comes the great joy of receiving forgiveness and living a life that pleases Him. Christ’s judgment is not punishment; Rather, it is a reminder of our forgiveness. Eventually we will fully understand the depth and breadth of His grace.

Believers should not be humbled or bow their heads during the judgment. Nor are we to repent – the time for that has passed. We will stand before God, clothed with the righteousness of Christ and forgiven of all sin. And finally we will understand how great is the love of our God for us.

What questions will God ask on the day of judgment?

The specific questions that will be asked on Judgment Day are not known with certainty, but it is believed that people will be judged based on their faith in Jesus Christ and their actions in life. Some possible questions that may be asked are:

“Have you believed and accepted Jesus Christ as your Savior?”
“How have you lived your life according to my teachings?”
“Have you loved and served others as I have loved and served them?”
“How have you used the talents and gifts I have given you to glorify Me and serve others?”
“Have you asked for forgiveness for your sins and tried to repent and improve?”
There are several ways to find peace and not worry about judgment day. Strive to live according to the teachings of Jesus and the Bible. This includes loving others, serving those in need, and practicing forgiveness and compassion. Instead of worrying about the future, focus on living each day in a way that honors God. This can help reduce anxiety about what’s to come.

It is important to remember that it is natural to feel worried or afraid, but through faith and action, we can find confidence and comfort in God’s promises.
