Spiritual Awakening: Thousands of years ago, a man and a woman lived in the most beautiful garden in the world. They were similar to their creator and the only purpose and goal of their life was to show their creator to other creatures and to each other and in this way to praise and glorify him in every minute of the day. They lived humbly in the presence of their creator and knew that they themselves were created and therefore completely surrendered to his will. Because they submitted to his will every day and lived for their creator and not for themselves, they were also obedient to each other. Therefore, in the first family that was formed in that beautiful garden, there was complete harmony, peace, love and unity both in relation to God and to each other. But one day this harmony broke, because the snake (Satan) secretly crawled into this house where God was the center of attention and brought sin with him. Because they had lost their friendship with God. The relationship between them also broke. They no longer lived for God, each one lived for himself. Now each one had become his own god and because they did not live for God, they did not live for each other either. In this way, peace, harmony, love and unity went away and it was replaced by incompatibility and hatred, in other words, sin!
Sin entered the house first. We sin more at home than anywhere else and that is why our homes are the first place that needs spiritual awakening. Of course, churches need to wake up and countries and the world also need to wake up. But it is hypocritical to say that our churches are awake but our families are not. To start spiritual awakening, home is the most difficult place, but it is more important and necessary than all places. Before we go any further, we need to remember what spiritual awakening really is. Spiritual awakening simply means that a new life begins in the hearts where spirituality is very weak, of course, a life that does not rely on our human efforts. This life is not human but divine. It is the life of Jesus that fills us and flows from us. This new life appears in us through friendship and union with others, that is, there is no longer any barrier between us and God and between us and others. Home and family is the first place where this issue should be implemented. Many of us who call ourselves Christians, how different our behavior is from the way above. Getting angry over minor issues, harsh morals, selfishness and hatred. Even sometimes there is apparently no difference between family members. Often complete unity and partnership and true friendship are not seen. Anything that separates us from others will distance us from God and destroy our friendship with God, so that God’s life will no longer flow from our hearts.
