Divine grace in Christianity
Divine grace in Christianity includes other concepts such as forgiveness, salvation, life experience, repentance and God’s love. Its Hebrew word means “loyalty” or “enduring love”, beloved to his beloved. A favor that the beloved does not deserve because she has always rebelled against her beloved, but the beloved has reasons for his love and kindness that the beloved is unaware of. God’s grace has always gone beyond moral and religious requirements (Deuteronomy 7:7 and 8). In the writings of the prophets, a new heart and soul is the fruit of God’s grace (Ezekiel 36:26; Jeremiah 31:31-34).
The natural response of a person who benefits from God’s grace is to show it to others (Deuteronomy 11:16-24:19). The grace and grace that includes not only the people of God’s house, but the whole world. In the parable of the good Samaritan, Jesus Christ taught his disciples to go beyond their own belief frameworks in showing God’s grace and mercy and to show mercy and grace to those who are considered among the so-called “strangers”.
The manifestation of God’s grace is realized in speech, thought and action. If we claim to have divine grace in speech or even in thought, but do not show it in action, God’s word questions the authenticity of such grace (1 John 3:17 and 18).
Faith is a human response to God’s grace (Romans 2:5 and 10:9; Ephesians 2:8) which proves itself by showing love to others (Galatians 6:5). The fabric of the religion of the Bible is rooted in the grace and magnanimity of God, and without it, there is no gospel and good news.
