How Can We Learn to Manage Our Emotions in a Godly Way?

Bible: God has feelings. God is love, but he also brings anger towards sin, he also experiences joy, happiness and pride. However, because God cannot and does not change, His emotions are not unstable and fallible like ours. He has feelings, but he is not changed or shaken by them. He is not like us who, when we are happy or angry, twist in the wind. He just is. He is always angry at sin. He will always have his love for his creation. He will always feel compassion for the poor, the widows and the oppressed. Because He created us in His image, we too have feelings.

It is clear from the scriptures that Jesus experienced the full range of human emotions. When he was angry, he cleansed the temple by overturning the tables (Matthew 21). In Mark 5:3, we read of his anger toward the Pharisees. Jesus wept over Jerusalem (Luke 19), in Gethsemane and over the grave of his friend Lazarus (John 11). In Luke 22, Jesus was greatly distressed because he was sweating drops of blood, a condition called hemosiderosis. Jesus is also seen on many occasions showing compassion, healing the sick, and raising the dead.
